Going into the keyhole, he squeeks by the 944. then going into 7 the guy trys the same manuever only to run out of brakes and punts my friend [who walked away]. Both framerails are bent, both engine arms snapped and the front and rear of the car are smashed.

yeah, thats the one. I was sitting on the hill and saw that shit. It looked like the car was going to flip because the wheels were starting to dig into the sand. Kory (the driver) said he was starting out the drivers window, waiting to see the sky.

Well, that's racing and it is very different from a DE, which is presumably what you'd be doing if you took you car to the track. There's no requirement in a DE to try to drive the car at the limit, nor is getting close to another car (especially in a corner) encouraged.
