Toyota sets the TX standing mile record: 241.8mph

Among the many 1000+hp modified Vipers, Z06s, Porsches, and Ford GTs trying desperately to achieve a 230mph speed, a little stock-bodied 6-cylinder Toyota designed in the early 1990's sent the entire field home with their tails between their legs with a blistering 241.8mph run. This Street Class car even beat the speeds of all of the Race Class entrants. The pass was made with only 37psi of boost (capable of 45+) and no nitrous. They will be aiming for 250mph in the spring of 2009.

    Enjoy:

Why couldn't there be a stock i6 turbo BMW E30? Then we could all run 13's for 1000 dollars.

God damn, that's fast. But I would be scared shitless to get on the brakes at speeds like that.

OK guys, not do disappoint or take anything away from that Supra, but it is very very very far from being stock. That's an old WWII blimp base that they do the TX Mile at south of Houston. The BoostLogic Supra is a beast, fully built, motor to chassis.

And he has a chute to slow it down for the guy that said he'd be afraid to touch the brakes.
