Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the other bolt pattern on the wheel (5x114?) wouldn't fit the stock lug bolts either. Did you verify that they'd be making them to fit with stock lug bolts?

I ran the 4x100 version for over a year with zero issues. They were the 16x8 et20 made for the E30. Yeah I wish they had more lip & the original BMW lugs were a tight fit to get to but nothing I could not deal with, or had to buy to adapt them on. They were light and cheap for a direct bolt on wheel. Maybe it's this particular batch, the 5 lug version or this particular seller?

The other holes are not a bolt pattern, they do that simply to lighten the wheel. They are cast that way (bolt holes are drilled) you can also see they go straight through. I don't fully understand your question. I told them exactly what I wanted, they've also made bmw wheels before. The metal of the wheel is so thin as is, that to drill for correct 17mm bolts would have gone right through the side of the hub. Their engineers made this choice without consulting me.

4 lug fitments should be fine. its a 4 lug wheel. It's not a comparison to this problem. They coned the hub inward (it gets significantly smaller the lower the offset is). If they had not done that, it might have fit, but even then would be pushing it. Rota made the choice to go ahead and unsafely drill a 5 wide 5 lug pattern onto a 4 lug wheel. Had the drilled this for a porsche fitment it would be even more clear that this is not acceptable.
