    Need help interpreting shock graph

I was thinking of using this shock on the rear of my 1990 e30. Unfortunatly they sent me this graph which goes by a different unit of measurement than what i'm used to hearing.

So far everyone i've talked to rates thier compression and rebound numbers by Nm @ (1/2M)/S and this one is in pounds and inches.

Can someone PLEASE help me convert these numbers into something comparable to what I get from Koni or Bilstien?

What is the maximum spring rate you think this shock handle?

I'd like to know what adjustable shock has that perfect of an adjustment range. It has to be Ohlins, AST, or better. Look at the perfect separation between the adjustment points, and how perfectly smooth the curves are... I say it's fake.

Is this based on anything or just a wild guess?

It came from the manufacturer, I don't really know what to tell you....:?

Just convert inches to newton meters, inch to 1/2a nm

                  That is normal Koni stuff.
                  Here's Koni D/A's:

I'm just saying the curves are way to perfect. It looks like one of those generic engine dyno's graphs you see for the tornado and air filters and shit.

Anyone got a shock dyno for an e30 koni or bilstien?

Yeah your right. Looking at that again, that does look like a generic graph.....

Apex, are those actuall dyno plots of Koni DA's? Where did you get them?

Those are Solstice rear D/A's. Found them on a forum. I'm sure e30's would have a very different graph, but it's the point that the curves are not nice and smoothly separated as the graph that the OP posted.

This may be a dumb question but why can't you just ask the "super secret" folks that made your shocks what an appropriate spring rate would be?
