Nothing like a jaffster knob! Have one installed in my race car and it worth’s the money. Great craftsmanship and excellent feeling when combined with a Z3 2.8/3.0 shifter (slightly bended backwards, towards driver side) is a work of art. It sits at the right height, close to 3 o’clock steering wheel location and provides short and precise throw for positive and crisp feeling. Try it!!!

I'm definitely getting one. I ran into him sometime ago on another board I frequent and he's a pretty nice guy....with a nice design, so I will probably get it soon.

...now just trying to figure out which shifter to go with...lol

I liked my previous Z3 1.9 in my E30 but I see others with the X5, 2.8, etc. makes me wonder if I should get something different.

Made my own "race knob" out of Delrin. 7'' tall.

I was thinking about selling them. I can basically make them any way you want. Jaffster style, my style. I never understood why the Jaffster one has a lip on it, though. Extra work for something that's not even functional.

Yah, probably not even worth it. If I were to do it again I would probably go with a the Z3 SSK from understeer.com

as steve explained a thread somewhere, the flange is there to help grip in case your hand slips while shifting. remember this wasn't intended for street use.

Hmm...sounds like a very unlikely scenario. Just my experience.

And why would it not be intended for street use? It's just a shift knob.

not really. esp if your not wearing gloves. i think there's a different one that will be made for street use.
