I have been doing tech for BMWCCA CR at a few events, and the wiring going between the shell and a tube is a big no-no. Think about what can happen if you get even a slight side impact, but strong enough to move the rocker. There will be a few sparks...

HMmmm...I really would have to disagree with it being dangerous all of the harness that side is fused!
it would be no more dangerous than a front end impact where any other wiring is....also the battery cut off switch is in reach from the drivers seat and outside of the car...
FWIW the main battery cable (not fused) is not run behind the cage...
Her is another spec e30 car...same thing
