    New dead pedal

Hi guys. I just posted in the classifieds section about a new dead pedal I am producing for e30 track cars. The dead pedal's angle is currently 15 degrees but it can be adapted to everyone's taste.

Dead pedal is made from laser cut stainless steel and is CNC folded. Comes with stainless domed bolts.

Indeed, the soft foam padding acting as a dead pedal works fine on the stock carpeting. Remove it, and then suddenly the driver feels... naked.

Here's the non-carpeted unit. It bolts to the curved part of the firewall (rear of wheel well). A new version will be available for carpeted cars, next week.

Picture of the race unit - not carpeted shell.

Got an approximate price on the one for cars retaining their carpet? I am very interested.

Should be priced the same for the Hartge-style, and a bit more for the M-Technic style as there are more folds and more metal surface.

                    Hi Ray

The four dead pedals are designed for LHD cars. But I am pretty sure that one of them will fit a RHD. The Hartge-style should fit a RHD as it is designed to fit over the mushy foam foot rest. It should be ready in a week.

                      Lee,

When you get some pics of the non-carpeted one installed, post them up.

I want to see where this is in relation to the clutch pedal.

I will ask people to post some pictures when their unit is installed.

Do you think it would fit mine with the cage blocks?

                            Hi there.

The pedal is 3-1/4" x 9-1/2" and should fit properly between the forward tubes and the clutch pedal, but make your own tests by mocking up a rectangle of paper. The base of the dead pedal will be bolted ahead of the block, and you will have to cut some of that diamond plate, and also maybe remove/cut one of the two upper mounting tabs on the dead pedal to fit around the plate on the firewall. But removing one of the tab is one of reasons why they are separated.

That being said, and I would hate to criticize your cage builder but I doubt that your cage will pass inspection (at least with BMWCCA CR) as the electrical loom should not be going between the rocker and the block. If you have an accident, it will crush the wires and risk electrical fire.

Thanks for the feedback I will measure tonight
It is strange that you say that about the wiring harness....the cage builder I used builds a great deal of the cages for the NASA spec e30 series in the SE...That is how I found him as a few of the racers have used my shop facilities for dyno work and the cage was just replicated and I assume they all have log books...
