Get the stiffness of "almost" polyurethane but still have a shear point? This man is onto something?
Awaiting more opinions.Comment

That's what I'm running in my E30 track car. I noticed no increase in cabin noise at all. It's hard to say how much stiffer the E21 mounts are compared to stock E30 mounts because my stock ones were totally blown to crap when I replaced them.sigpic

I never noticed any increased NVH with urethane transmission mounts. That is with no insulation anywhere, just the thin early carpet.
Adding urethane engine mounts adds a little bit of vibration though.
[Please Mitch, say something about my diff. I'm expecting a comment about that.]Comment

I have poly trans mounts, and 535 motor mounts on my swap car, and the driveline vibration is annoying in my DD. It makes it worse that I have a LTW flywheel, which causes quite a bit of vibration decelerating between 4k-2k.
I will be switching out for e21 mounts. I don't track my car, only canyons, and some future dorifto action! :DCheck out Undr8d Empire on Facebook: www.facebook.com/Undr8dEmpireLlc

I've seen this happen to a friend (the mounting ears breaking off) BUT we came to the conclusion it was because he had solid trans mounts and stock engine mounts.
I think if they're both the same material/harness it should be okay. I guess I'll find out as I'm running the 75D poly motor/trans mounts from AKG. Drove it a couple times and yes its all buzzy and what not but that's expected. I sorta think that's why they sell the mounts together in a set.Comment

The IE tranny mounts will increase NVH in an E30. No question about it. I used them for a few days and could not tolerate them (even in a car that is primarily an auto-xer). Switched to Rogue solid rubber mounts and couldn't be happier.
The IE engine mounts are OK, BTW.Garrick
