Anyone using Carbotech pads? I bought XP10 front and XP8 rear and I am waiting to test them. They say that its very good pad combo.

      I too have a fire breathing s52 on e36M front 318ti 5-lug brakes and 235 RA1s all around.

I was running used, rusted under-spec’d rotors (swap parts), oem pads front and cheap advance auto in the rear. It still braked well and tended to not overheat in HPDE’s but was just getting there. I ran this setup in Sebring, PBIR and RRR a couple times! I actually had to add a brake bias on the front line because basically I couldn’t get the rear brakes to do anything.

Two days ago I bedded in slotted rotors and 9012 blue pads all around…nasty stopping power. I’ll showcase them in RRR may 2-3. This post is kind of useless because my situation is different than most guys here. I’m setting up for a review in a month about having this same setup and these same pads all around. I find this thread interesting. Bimmerforums has a couple awesome threads.
      No more e30s for me.

Would greatly appreciate links as I'm still trying to soak up all the info I can on these cars. :)

so aside from HT-10s, what would be a good high-temp range pad that maybe doesn't cost an arm and a leg? This isn't for competition so they don't need to be the best, I just don't want melted brakes again like last year. :)

            PFC-01's are my favorite pads.

            DE's are a tease.

Me too -- great reliable setup.

I've also had great sucess with HT-10 rears and PFC-01 in front as well as Carbotech XP-12. I would keep the HT-10's in the rear for the track -- in my opinion it's good to have pads that match so they work in conjunction with each other.

I've used HPS in the rear and HT-10 in the front. Lot's more trailbraking like that, but frankly, I'm much quicker around the track with more aggressive rear brakes and more overall brake control. All this despite the fact that my trail braking skills are pretty good

HT10 pads are medium friction pads. Any of you has tried high friction DTC70 on R compound rubber?
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

They don't offer the DTC70 in the stock sizes.

how about HT-10s up front and Porterfield R4s in the rear? I already picked up HT-10s for the front from cheades, and somebody local has some R4s for a decent price in the rear, which happens to be much less than what HT-10 rears cost new.

Yeah they are really expensive for some reason. Just got my RX7 front and E30 rear. FWIW the best price I've found was here:

Will be absolutely fine. I have run that setup also.
