Change my username?

Do you know how insanely confusing this can be if everyone can change their usernames on a whim whenever they want? That is the only solid way one poster can associate another poster with his/her past reputation of posts, i.e. how you "e-know" people.

I suppose you're right for more prominent members who engage in business on here. I've wanted to change mine for some time, but didn't wanna bother mods with it knowing how often it probably happens. They are approved before they become displayed, so its not like everyone can change it on a whim. Just food for thought here.

I was on another forum that ran vbulletin and it was possible for forum members to change their own username. This might be applicable here?

One of the forums I post on allows you to change other user's display names and titles. They still login the same but the name by their posts is whatever. Talk about insanity

I think we are pretty good with the system we got. If you don't like your username. Well, it might or might not get changed. All depends on the circumstance. The user titles, they get handed out to who deserve them lol.

Titles cannot merely be changed, you have to earn them.
