Idea for the car FS forum

    Perhaps requiring that you post:

    1. Year/Model, and make if not BMW
    2. Price
    3. Location

in the title. Sucks surfing through and seeing a GREAT looking deal only to find out it's 2000 miles away. :(

    Just a suggestion.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

I agree, it will also look much more organized.

hell you could make it a form, and have it output a string to fill in the title for the thread, and have those things be required.

not a bad idea, but there would have to be accomidations for the frankenstein e30's. swaps, FI, 5-lugs, etc.

Heck I thought these were standards for trying to sell something. Oh that's right we can't teach common sense to those that don't have any.

Location in for sale "headline" or title would be a plus. RX-7 forums have regional "for sale" threads and they require posting state.
I can't tell you how much time wasted clicking on "for sale" threads only to find they're too far away, or sellers not wanting to ship. Or sellers wanting to keep you on the line till someone local shows up. Or sellers wanting to sell, then deciding they don't want to sell. Actually, I've moved to Ebay to buy stuff. I don't have time to sift though all the nonsense.

how about DELETING the sold adds?

Requiring the location in the thread title would be very helpful. A standard format could look something like this:

"FS: '91 325i in Sacramento, CA" or "FS: '91 325i in NorCal"

I would make this the very minimum - year, model, location. All the other details and price can be mentioned in the ad itself.

                1991 325i - sold :(

I'd have to say negative on that. Since some people go through and search old posts, seeing what would be a base line to ask for their car.

I'd have to agree with Jon about the year/model/location in the title. But that should be common knowledge.

Then edit the title to say sold

Only mods can change the title. And i'm not going to read each thread to see if the car was sold. What could be done is the person who made the thread, edit his/hers original post to say ****SOLD**** at the top of the first post

                        Great idea, something like this:

Winner. I think this is a GREAT idea. It will basically force people to be organized. I like! :) :pimp:

booo-hooooo, i think it works great as it is.

Some people like selling stuff, some are not smart enough. Makes it more fun, and allows people to snatch deals.

I mean, this is not eBay.

So, how about it? Can one of the mods make this happen? It'd really clean up the E30 FS forum.

Another idea, a little box next to the title, with options "FS" and "WTB" to help distinguish the two. Refer to updated picture below.
