So in Cali they'll give you a ticket and make you put the car back to stock?

Basically because I modified emissions equipment my car is illegal and I have to prove the car will pass a state smog test and I can't drive it until then.

Its a state inspection so I'm pretty sure the vin has to match and stuff like that.

If I get another car I'll just register this one as non-op probably.

ahh. that blows. good luck finding a car though
theres a late model black 2dr 325 that i drive by everyday and it just sits in the driveway.
im so tempted to ask and see if they would consider selling it, lol.. but i feel awkward knocking on a door and asking them.
                sigh, owell...

                  Here's a possible car.

It's a-tragic though, but at that price, you could do a 5 speed swap. Can you do a bumper swap on the 88 vert as easily as the sedan?

No u have to bring it to the state referee center and they check the whole thing out there. It's a pita, the alternative is to pay the $1500 fine and skip the referee altogether.

It was only a matter of time. The only way to go is to get it through BAR imho

no you dont get the ref sticker, you just bypass the inspection... i dont think its possible to get a home'brewed turbo kit ref'd in CA... its hard enough to pass even with a brand name kit that HAS a CARB# assigned to it.

I think I might register the white car as a non-op and keep it for the track.
