My friend goes to Chico State and he loves the area there.
It's hot as fuck in the summer though, and nothing really to do except drink and wakeboard lol

The summer nights are AMAZING. GO. NOW. 90 at night out on the patio at the bear or LaSalles or any number of cool places.

If you like to drink and you like women, Chico is good.

And it's surprisingly good looking women.. haha for being such a hole in the wall town it's a great experience. Been there numerous times. Many college town things that you get to benefit from, especially if you're going to college. Nothing like rafting down the river through the middle of town with two tubes. One for you, and one for your alcohol. But like everyone said, you have to like the heat, and you have to like the cold because it's below the sierra snow line, but still gets the heat like the central valley area.

I'm also in the Chico area. Lived in the northstate most of my life. Summer this year has been HOT! Maybe we could have a get together at Bidwell Park or something?

I'm moving back to Chico on the 24th, I'll be getting in late...I'd be down for a meet any day after that, Big Al's? River Rd? I'm down for whatever!

Matt, where do you live? I'm moving into Nord Gardens, which will prove to be interesting (I have LOTS of memories from there)...

e30, it's too bad you aren't going to be in town the following weekend, you could experience the labor day float...you'd never go home ahahahahahhahahahhahahah...I'm NOT kidding. Not even at all.

I've heard wild stories about the Labor Day float. I might be going this year, since my friends won't be living in the dorms this year and I can stay with them.

It's totally insane. I have 3 pieces of advice:

1) Bring mardi gras beads. A shit load of them. Especially if you can get your hands on some extra cool ones.

2) Bring a camera.

3) Get there early.
