well i like both don't get me wrong. but if you watch videos of the two together, the escorts seem to pick up alerts sooner than the v1. but it is well known the escorts are better at picking up laser, which is what everyone is starting to use.

buy it used if it's in good condition, send it in for servicing, escort throws in new mounts, case and shit.

and lasers are what screwed me over both times i've gotten speeding tickets. I read about them servicing it and stuff. I want to buy the 9500i, they upgrade it to the ix for like 130 bucks or something, 2 weeks turnaround time. sounds great to me.

you should try an escort 9500ix and tell me which one you'd rather go with.

your first mistake was ordering rods from san francisco.

I'm sure I wasn't going that fast, felt more like 50-53, I was going up a steep hill/canyon road and was behind like 2 cars who were probably going less than 58 lol. I didn't want to be a douche to the guy as he wasnt really giving me a hard time so I just cooperated to the best of my ability. I was definitely speeding for sure but not almost twice the speed limit so I kinda wanna go to court and just ask to have the fine lessened by showing my pay stub and maybe some waterworks. My boss said I might get lucky as I'm not necessarily contesting, just asking for a break. I do want to try that calibration excuse though.
Your pretty much screwed if you already admitted to speeding to the cop assuming he has a dash cam. But since you said it was a motorcycle cop, I'd still go with not guilty and do trial by declaration or asking the judge for an extension on the court day due to work, school, etc.... Getting an extension will most likely make the cop not show up when you do have to go to court.

I had the benefit of getting pulled over by someone on the night shift although my run in with the law was weird. He pulled me over and I was being polite while talking to him until he started being a dick. He kept trying to get me to admit speeding so I called him out on not having proper calibration on his laser/ radar. The funniest part is when he threatened to tow my car, which I flat out told him, "you can't do that". He finally got tired of trying to get me to incriminate myself and he just wrote the ticket anyways even though the other two cops on the scene told him he could not since he had no proper evidence.
Probably the weirdest thing about this whole situation is that the same cop got a "call" about fireworks going off in the canyon behind my house at night a week or so later while my friend and I were directly outside my house putting his laptop back in his car. Although the guy who wrote me the ticket wasn't there at first, he pulled up as a backup unit while the first cop was questioning us. I asked them why we were being detained and I didn't get an answer until after the 2nd cruiser showed up. Once they finally told me what was going on I told them that they were mistaken and said I could verify it by bringing my parents outside to confirm my story. They did not allow that even though I had my phone on me. I kept asking them at that point if I was free to go. Needless to say by this point the guy who pulled me over the previous week recognized me and I pretty much made the point that the situation was harassment. So the other two cops (who I had no problem with) convinced the cop who originally gave me the ticket to drop the current situation and let me and my friend go. The guy I did have a problem with replied with a sarcastic remark of, "Don't worry, I go to ALL of my court dates". Needless to say I'm pretty sure this is the reason he didn't show up in court.

TLDR version: I don't have a problem with cops, but some are complete assholes. By not incriminating myself along with the other situation probably saved me from a $350 ticket. Anyways... let us know what happens with your ticket man and best of luck.

I guess i am lucky,When you get older you cant speed anymore. I have arthritis in my right leg and it hurts to push on the gas pedal sometimes.lol I haven't had a ticket since 2004. knock on wood.
