One to his question of how effective they are if one speeds past a LEO coming onto the freeway. My point was that it doesn't matter because he can just use his eyes in that situation.
The second point was about speeding in traffic. Radar isn't going to nab you in four lanes of traffic on the 5. LEO watches the spaces in between the cars and sees you weaving, catches up to you, then tags you with radar for the court's benefit.
But yeah, in Arizona, NorCal, trips to Vegas, I can see radar detectors being somewhat useful.Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!Comment

But people want features so features they pay for, unfortunately, because otherwise your money would go toward better radar detection circuitry instead of laser.Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!Comment

I'm not sure what you're trying to say with that comment?
The speed traps that you successfully detected and when LEO is traveling behind cars are passive radar systems.
A laser gun, however, is an active system. The LEO has to be stationary and aim it at you to get a reading. When he pulls the trigger it's speed of light registration on your speed.
Radar detectors are useful, laser detectors are not.
Radar jammers are a federal offense, laser jammers are state offenses in certain states.Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!Comment

Sorry, directed at Ayman. I'm just saying that detectors are useful in passive detection situations (open road/long spans), whereas they're virtually useless in constricted or trafficked conditions.1989 325is / 2.7, 274 cam, e30 M3 5-lug

ah gotcha :)
On a sidenote...
You guys know the part I'm asking for, right? The three wires that slip into the back of the temp sliders to light them up? Shouldn't take but a few quick minutes next time one of you are at one of the yards.Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!Comment
