Tried to install e36 switches, started on passenger side.
        followed the "diagram below"

CAR switch (passenger side) to e36 switch
        1. Black to black
        2. violet/gray to blue
        3. brown to black/yellow
        4. brown to green/gray
        5. green/gray to blue/green

SO its not working... tried two multiple switches too... what y'all think?

gah.. I shall try with someone has retrofitted e36 switches then...

Look up under Diy pages for e36 conversion and its there.
Also look if you blew a fuse.
No blown fuses.. I only started on the passenger side... the drivers side is stock and works

I'll check the wiring I had in my E30. Worked fine till I removed the fuse box and wiring ;-)
Let me know... I will also read up some more on the DIY threads...

P.S. Just some more info so you guys know, when i press the button up or down I hear a solenoid noise but window doesn't work... Also switch doesn't light up and for some reason.... I hear the solenoid noise randomly and Im not even touching the switch.. It has since went away because i unplugged the switch from the base.

Heya nigel mentioned a oil filter relocation kit that allows you to drain oil from the dipstick tube. anyone know or can link what kit he's referring to we couldn't find it last night.

That sounds like a vacuum pump or some kind of pump that pulls it out of the dipstick but I don't know why that would be desirable unless you couldn't get to the drain plug. Gravity draining is the best way to get as much nastiness out of there possible.
Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!

you can find those everywhere. but they aren't cheap. it's just the lazy/rich man's way of doing oil changes. it's an oil extractor. go on bavauto.com and part number is PE30899.

I can't believe anyone would wonder why you'd want to move the oil filter away from being sandwiched between the exhaust and motor mount
