Clear is on. There's a couple blemishes but I really feel no need to complain for the price (i hope) I'm paying. Came out really nice overall. We'll see how it is tomorrow.
Wait, you're having it done and you don't know how much you're paying?
Just ran into a friend from HS. She was driving her boyfriend's straightpiped e60 m5. Apparently she was luxury4play's model of the month. How things change.

theres a e60 m5 that drives by my job daily over by old torrance. Its fucking loud!
Brakes and suspension are bolt on no brains type work. Everything is completely interchangeable with 0 modifications if your installing parts from an e30 m3. Your going to spend thousands to have someone install the swap for you. I'd hit up the castros. They will have 3 s54 swaps under their belts by the end of this month.
So I've heard. That's why I'm not worrying about the 5-lug swap since I'm pretty much set on e30 m3 and maybe a bbk down the road if I'm not satisfied with braking performance..Stock e30 brakes fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu-suuuuuuucks lol
If I was going e36 route, then I'd probably be doing more research, but I don't see the point of running 17' wheels and completely messing with the stock caster and suspension geometry.. 17's look too big and really flatten the style factor of an e30 IMO... I was really thinking about it cause braking performance is way better, but I wouldn't have the heart to do it knowing there's a better option out there. I'm sorta perfectionist, and it really shows in my work :D
Newb member is newb... I've heard Castro's name get tossed around before. Probably an obvious question, but.. Who is he? Lol
Who knows.. Maybe by the time I'm thinking 24v, I'll have enough mechanical experience to balls up and do it myself, that and price is always another thing to consider too...
On the way to La Jolla yesterday morning I was 30 seconds behind a 5 car pile up. One of the cars was a full size Chevy pickup and it was flying through the air after hitting the center divide, the result was a real mess.
I'm staying home today, way too many crazy folks on the road going way to fast. TGIF!
Stock brakes are fine, unles you're tracking or becoming a F1 driver in the e30. Get good pads, rebuild your calipers, replace brake lines to the SS ones and then comeback with a review.
I don't get the thrill of a BBK if you're still on a stock m20?
5 lug swaps are nice, if you can get the right stuff at a reasonable price., the reason why most people do it, is for a better choice of wheels but honestly, look around and you'll find plenty of 4x100 wheel choices, hell you can even go CCW nowadays. There's a thread out there that talks about the truth behind 5 lug swaps. Look for it and make your choice.
