So I wasn't a wiz with my 2g iphone, but I knew a lil bit.. it was jail-broken and unlocked, had cydia for teh freebies.. Whats the equal to this on the HTC. We just changed from 5gb to 2gb cause I think 5gb is overkill, but I just found out that turning my phone into a wifi hotspot and tethering will now cost me monthly if I want to use it. How does one get around this?

As I said. Download ROM Manager then download Tether.

So one of the employees took your car out on a drive while at the shop? Totally Ferris Bueller style right there. I'd open a police investigation and hope the shop pays out the ass for damages.

i think i'd rather see how the bodywork/paint turns out before making enemies out of the shop in charge of the front end of my car.

If you want to ROOT your phone, you'll need ROM Manager anyways. But as mentioned, the app gives you a direct link to download Tether.
