Sadly though you cant even get another e30 unless your a baller these days. What the fuck is happening. People are asking e36 M3 prices for stock POS e30's.

The issue is the stupid fucking kids see the cars that are ACTUALLY WORTH the high prices and think their car is the same thing because it has Eibach springs and an exhaust.

So today marks the first day I take a good look with what's up with my new e30
Looking at this thing.. I'm very discouraged, I literally have enough problems to start a build thread..

Aside from the fact this car is in utter shambles right now, I just don't understand how you can live with yourself knowing that the koment you wake up, you'll be driving around a car that is so ghetto-rigged underneath it looks like a crows nest and the interior is so FUBARed on the inside, it looks like a pig sty??

That is a hydraulic timing chain tensioner. It is preloaded with a spring that puts tension on the chain. When the oil pressure builds up inside the engine, it puts even more tension and eliminates the chain rattle. Without it, your engine noise would be unbearable.

Be careful when you remove it since any shock or drop will uncompress the tensioner and it will be a bitch to put the piston back in.

On the left side, you can see the tensioner screwed into the block. It keeps the guide rails nice and tight.
