Tentatively purchasing another e30 next week.

Euro early 84 323i with full e30 m3 running gear and m3 suspension. Only thing is it's missing the engine and tranny. It's already CA BAR'd for a 6 cyl engine and supposedly in good condition. I don't know all the details like how it's BAR'd for a 6 cyl engine when it had an s14 in it, but my mechanic knows what he's talking about. It's Alpine White and could be a good car to stuff this extra s54 engine into.


I shouldn't even be saying anything as it's pure speculation right now, but I'll probably buy it anyways.

In theory, I could probably stuff an s54 mated to a zf320 trans and still get away with smog. That's likely the route I will take with this one.

The only way to make the S54 "legal" would be to run it as OBD2 so that a smog shop could plug in to it.

There's always "smog" though. 8)

Any CA imported 323 is going to have a 6cyl BAR sticker. Without a drivetrain the suspension is probably worth more than the car.

I figured I'd let some of you in. You guys have infinite e30 knowledge than I do not (I often encourage you to get girlfriends for this very reason), and being prepared to make a purchase with the emotional support of so cal general chat (few of you imparticular) is important.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, I have no self control.
