Does anybody know if you can buy a parts car and avoid back fees on it. Like can you take the parts and just junk it or any other method?

Sure, don't transfer it in to your name. It's a parts car. Cut it up and scrap it when you're done.

Well if you never transfer it to your name wouldn't it still be their property and also wouldn't they would still be racking up back fees witch wouldn't really affect me but I would still feel bad. I'm guess after a while the dmw would just drop the car from the system though right?

Last time I had a parts car I showed the LKQ driver the title and the bill of sale saying it was mine and he handed me my check and hauled away the shell no questions asked.

Did the car have any back fees? Im trying to buy an e34 parts car but it has over $1000 in back fees so ideally don't want to get stuck with it if I buy it lol.

I've owned at least 20 parts cars. It's no big deal. The seller gives you the title and a bill of sale. They send in the release of liability on their end, and done. It would be absolutely ridiculous for you to go pay DMV fees on a car you're going to throw away. Most of mine have gone to the junkyard. I just give them the title (in the other person's name) and my info. Done.

I always make a computer or hand written bill of sale besides normal dmv paperwork and my wife always says make copies / make copies of everything. I have scrapped 1 car out but i have sold TONS of cars and never had a proplem.

Maybe for some things, but I grabbed a random part number for a piece of 2002 belt line trim and Husker is still cheaper.
