Well if you never transfer it to your name wouldn't it still be their property and also wouldn't they would still be racking up back fees witch wouldn't really affect me but I would still feel bad. I'm guess after a while the dmw would just drop the car from the system though right?

Last time I had a parts car I showed the LKQ driver the title and the bill of sale saying it was mine and he handed me my check and hauled away the shell no questions asked.

I've owned at least 20 parts cars. It's no big deal. The seller gives you the title and a bill of sale. They send in the release of liability on their end, and done. It would be absolutely ridiculous for you to go pay DMV fees on a car you're going to throw away. Most of mine have gone to the junkyard. I just give them the title (in the other person's name) and my info. Done.Comment
