took all day, but got the motor swapped in. ran into a couple auto>manual issues on the block but otherwise went smoothly. hooking up the exhaust and sensors in the morning before a last check to see if this bitch cranks over!1989 325is / 2.7, 274 cam, e30 M3 5-lug

btw, looking at the sprockets the crank looks like it turns 2x1 the cam. is the timing right when matching the marks, or does the cam need to be a certain rotation of the crank?1989 325is / 2.7, 274 cam, e30 M3 5-lug

lol , he gave Henry a hard time? Im sure that Dx's engine wasnt stock. A buddy of mine had a type r swap in his d2 , it was fast 1st threw 3rd gear but no top speed power. His ECu was upgraded too. 9200 rpms and no speed limiter...Comment

Exactly right. The cam goes through one intake-exhaust cycle for every two rotations of the crank. You have to time them according to the marks (cam with notch near the 13mm hex bolt, crank with O|T mark to notch on timing cover). Just be careful not to crash the valves.-Kalim
