yeah mike has an extra fuel pump, so gunna try that tomorrow morning, and im going to double check all connections up front as well as near the pump. im going to order a new cps, new fuel filter, new pump(if this one doesn't work), and new fuel relay.

Yeah, sounds like it's related to the pump most likely. Could be the relay, CPS, or a bad connection, though.

yeah it was really weird. its gotta be fuel pump imo. everything else hasnt been touched and seemed fine.

i did run out of gas last week, perhaps that had something to do with it?

It's not that likely the pump is the issue if it worked again. It could be, but not likely.

There are many things it could be and nobody can really "e-diagnose" it for you other than naming parts on the car. The first thing you need to do is get the car to replicate the problem. At that time test for fuel and spark. Go from there.

shit. i need this fixed before friday morning.

could long cranks be a symptom of a bad fuel pump? sometimes it won't start right away, but after a few seconds itll turn over. also, when this happened, i tried cranking it after like 30 minutes and started for about a second before dying and it did this again when aaa tried starting the car 10 minutes later. i only let the car run for like 30 seconds when i got home and only revved it a few times to 3k before shutting it off. im thinking something is loose? or perhaps bad cps? do you have any idea what it "could" potentially be?

Well checking any and all engine/fuek related connections would be a start I suppose.

Fire it up tomorrow and see what it does. If it runs, leave it running and see if it dies. If it doesn't run, test for sparky time and fuel fun time.

Take coil plug wire off at distributor cap. Put screwdriver inside (touching inner metal clip). Hold screwdriver by its rubber or plastic handle. Touch shaft of screwdriver to something else metal (valve cover). Have somebody crank engine.

Fuel, pull off fuel feed line at rail. (The one not going to fuel pressure regulator). Have somebody crank car and watch for fuel.
