Or you could buy a set for $50 and not put 10 hours of work in to headlight grilles. ;)

The seats are leather, and when paying $50 bucks for something makes you bankrupt, you are quite willing to do the work ;)

plus it was like an hours work

Materials and labor. Although i'll need to confirm my cost on materials. I have not had to buy paint in almost 2 years. I'll be purchasing a quart of black paint soon so i'll know within a week.

I finally see how much auto shops overprice things.

                    Also, thanks PO:

But I didn't do it to make money and save on costs and screw the customer, I did it because I love my car (and I'm dirt poor lol)

Those rates actually don't seem so bad. I've seen worse. One of the receipts on the diesel shows .5hrs of labor to replace the fuses.

some shops take advantage, before i got my timing done at e30motorwerks, i asked around. i found this place in costa mesa that specializes in bmws and they build race cars, they wanted 400 to tear down the engine and 1000 more to install the parts that i had already purchased...the reason they wanted to charge me 400 to see "what was wrong with my car" when i had specifically said i didnt want anything done other than to replace all the parts i was providing...so then got the whole timing done for 500 at roberts shop

Should've done it yourself. It's quite an experience when you shear a bolt all up in your engine and there is no one there to help :)
