I get up at 5:30am mon thru fri and 6am on sat's. I have to be at work at 7am and work till 6pm mon thru fri and 4pm on sat.I have been working these type of hours and days almost all the time i have been in this line of work. I have been working for the same employer since 1994 working in a Euro car repair shop as a manager. I have been in this field since 1988 and started and the bottom and worked my way up. Im 46 and yes jobs are hard to come by and ......especially somebody you can work with for the duration of time i have worked here..be thankful your working and have a job. I have a wife with 3 teenage daughters and own my house and have BMW's to play with. You have to man up and work for what you get in life.........................Oh good morning R3V !!!

Before cooking I was doing full blown construction work being on the road 5am till late nights 6 days a week
Now I run a kitchen 6-7days a week 10-14hrs a day, I've busted my ass to get where I am

And I'm sure you still live at home as well so definitely no room to say shit

I just don't see myself getting stuck in a blue collar job. No offence to any of you guys that wrench for a living. I mean I enjoy working on cars as a hobby when it's my car or a friends car. I just wouldn't want to do that every single day.

No offense taken. I wouldn't want you working on my car either. ;) Honestly this is the problem with the youth today (myself included to a certain extent). They are lazy and afraid of work. Everyone thinks they are entitled to something. Hopefully you find a rich girlfriend and make her a rich wife cause it doesn't sound like the working world and you are going to get along.

Sup. So my work keeps trying to get me to come in at 6:30 am every morning to clean the bays, meaning I'd have to wake up at 5:30. f that.

I never complained about any of my jobs, I remember my first job was minimum wage, 28 miles from my house one way. I worked sun-thur 4am-noon, then one day they told me that the position I worked was going over night and if I wanted to keep my spot then I was gonna work from 10pm-6am sat-weds, all for those guaranteed hours and jobs security.
Shit let me have your job I'll come in early and I can wrench on any car all day :)

The only somewhat local place that would stock them is Garagistic but they're not in the SCV.

I never complained about any of my jobs, I remember my first job was minimum wage, 28 miles from my house one way.

I had a job like that once. Luckily, I knew a friend who lived out that way so I would crash at his house to go to class together the next day; then I'd return home after my classes and start it all over again the next day.

The only job I can truly complain about was when I worked a restaurant because screw fast food. I was 0% trained by management and was expected to handle a huge brunt of the workload. The boss had an interfering and domineering wife who would show up unannounced and verbally abuse and demean me and my work in front of the team during rush hour, especially. Always called me out on how I had no formal training, then would always tell me to refer to the managerial training manual (which we didn't have) to figure out my problems. Psychobotch always found a way to twist what I said into something completely opposite of what I actually meant. Top that off with a lousy $8.25 for a management position. Yeah; took me for a ride for a while.

I was severely mistreated, underpaid, and undertrained, but hey, it paid the bills.


Oh, and I worked opening shift so I had to wake up at 4am 5 times a week.

i live at least 40miles from any work... Thats palmdale 4 ya. Having a car DD that gets good mpg is the only thing that saves me. My pops drives a 350 chevy v8. Thing eats fuel like no other.
