Anyone ever thrown M20B25 pistons on top of an eta rotating assembly and skimmed the block 1.5-2 mm? I might have access to free I pistons and I currently have a 2.7i that's mysteriously down on power / torque. With all the popularity of the M52 crank conversion recently and seeing the results from a proper setup I may want to do that in 4 years at my timing belt / clutch change interval.

I love love love bmw 24vs, but i know i wouldn't be happy if i swapped one. I'm not good mechanically, i like my m20 which already got tons of tlc, and id spend the extra cash to have itbs instead of two cams. Also i already have an alusil m60 in my house that i can't sell and sources for all of the pieces I'd need secondhand (cheap) lol. If my cars a daily im keeping it simple, if it becomes a full time toy it's getting that m60.

Lol i've only told a couple of people on here what my 24v recipe is , wont be so surprising but results going from an m20 to an m52 mystery motor will be quite great. Especially a motor i basically got for free.

I started pulling the motor and trans so far it's going pretty smoothly except for fucking coolant going everywhere

Since it looks like I'm keeping the car, I'm thinking about my next moves and there's already $1500+ in expenses looking me in the face. Paint touchup, possibly tinting to reduce sun damage to interior (no sign of a garage in my future), new wheels and tires, replace my roundels (front is aftermarket carbon fiber patterned bleh, rear has clearcoat missing), remove stereo and replace with blank panel + USB charge slot and a bluetooth head unit hidden somewhere, swap steering wheel for an m-tech 1, etc, etc
