    Kern River ftmfw.

cruising for an hour and a half down a cool river with bad ass rapids
packing cold beers on a river rat is the shit. just make sure you got a ride waiting at the bottom, you dont want to hike up for half an hour to your camp site.

The water was nice for a few weeks last summer when we had that huge swell from the south. It was blue+semi warm. As oppose to green and <60 degrees like it is now. Its still fun to hang out and pick up some chicks.

any standing waves on that river? Im always lookin for a chance to catch a wave. When it was pouring a couple months ago, I went down to the storm drain in Irvine and shredded like hell, until the rope started slipping...

no standing waves there. but nothing has beat that experience...

sit and enjoy cold brews on chill part of the river
                hang on for the rapids
                repeat x number of times

150 miles give or take 5, its the south end of the sequoia forest.
i do an annual trip with my girl up there for a week every august.

but yea beaches, i dont know about california beaches, the water always
seems sketchy, i do go with my friends, packing trays of jelloshots and
four shovels, we dig holes about 21sq feet, all jump in, take a group photo.

                    i like tradition.

the water is sketchy most of the time. I am reminded of how our water sucks when I go to hawaii and florida.
I just remembered Miami in 9 days! Ill take pictures, will be my second time in miami for spring break.

Butterfly beach in Goleta CA. It's located on a nature reserve where the Monarch butterfly's next on their way to Mexico. It's hard to find, no where to park, and there are days where you'll have a 2 mile stretch of the beach to yourself. The apartments near the top of the pictures is where I use to live.

Use to grab a 40, a backpack, and head out there at midnight. Make a nice camp fire, eat some food - clear my head. Wake up the next morning to all the early am runners. Good times.

Zuma, but I left Cali so I could have a beach in my backyard. And a river attached to it.
