Germany is only a plane ticket away. LOL. But seriously. You guys know i beat the hell out of my car and can't afford to have a waste gate, turbo, or $5 cheap junk Chinese hardware fail on me. I'm more then happy to let anyone take my car for a spin once i get it dialed in a little more. -
ohhhhhhh boy good thing I'm single and have a full time job.....I put my trust in your judgement and knowledge Nigel before i would buy a kit. I've ready plenty of unsettling stories about ebay kits and i know if something goes awry I can give you a call.Leave a comment:

Fine choice. Not to say the toyota is a not a good buy too but the cadi will be ready to dish out 1bar of boost all day long.Leave a comment:

This is the place to discuss whats wanted. Just remember good parts add up quickly
Log Manifold ($350)
T4 ITS turbo ($700)
Exhaust downpipe ($150)
Tial wastegate ($225)
Standalone engine management with boost controller and IAC ($500)
Intercooler ($80)
BOV flange ($20)
Bosch new 42lb injectors ($300)
Metric Blue head bolts ($42)
LC-1 ($189)
Custom goodridge 3 AN oil feed line ($25)
T4 oil drain flange ($10)
Goodridge 10an drain line $20
non chinese 10an fittings $50
Pan Bung ($5)
Greddy Blow off Valve ($180)
GE silicone intake elbow ($80)
Castro Customs oil feed block and catch can ($100)
Valve cover vent hoses ($20)
Vbands ($45)
K&N 3" filter ($45)
Thats $3200 not including plumbing. So lets just say $3500 for a cadillac kit with all the bells and whistles. Find me another kit under $4k that uses tried and true name brand parts for almost everything but the manifold and intercooler. So could cheaper parts be used? Yes. You could go with an ebay or used turbo and knock off $400. A fake BOV, wastegate would save you another $355. Use one of those chinese oil feed and drain line kits and save $40. Use a cheap filter and save $20. Used 24lb injectors should save another $200. Zip ties and duct tape instead of a silicone intake boot $80. Ditch the catch can and run heater hose straight to the ground and save $60. Loose the oil pressure sensor $50. No vbands $45. Metric blues and wideband? Your a gambler right? Boom $229 in your pocket.
That would make it about $2000 for a complete ready to go ebay special with engine management. That would be the cheapest almost all new turbo setup you could get. Unless you got that t3 manifold that may or may not have deformed during welding and usually cracks from insufficient bracing. And use an internally wastegated t3. That would get you a $1700 ready to go kit. It may not last long but dammit it will dyno at least 200whp.
I don't know about you guys but i plan on getting at least 100k miles out of my setup. Then I should only have to spend a few hundred on a turbo rebuild and a new wastegate diaphram. But if you guys want a "disposable" sub $2000 kit i can definitely make that happen. I can offer a complete true bolt on kit with out engine management or injectors for the exact same price as the cxracing kit that is missing the oil drain parts and other misc hardware.
Like i said before this is the place to find out what your looking for. Cadilac, toyota, or TATA motors?Last edited by einstein57; 11-03-2010, 05:54 PM.Leave a comment:

Nothing wrong with having options. Deric makes a good kit that is hard to beat for the money. I almost bought one myself. This is just a different recipe. Bullet proof cast manifold, ITS or Garrett T4 turbo, GReddy RS or Synapse BOV, and a Tial 38mm wastegate. Any way you bake it i think we'll have a pretty sweet product too.
Don't forget guys there will be a build as you go option. Start with a tapped oil pan and wideband sensor ($200). Then get a 3" mandrel exhaust system (starts at $300 for cat back and $500 including 3" cat). Engine management comes next. Before you know it you have half the kit on your car and you won't feel left out one bit. Plus you'll have the mods you would have gotten anyway had you not went turbo and just wanted a better N/A car.
The kit will be based around this manifold to start with. It should be the most hassle free.
