Can we just show up this weekend and drive without pre-registering?

I'm going home to socal for the weekend to install my steering rack. Maybe I'll head down to this autox and meet some of you guys!

Hmmm well the gf will be riding shotgun most of the day, and I could say I'm "instructing" her ;)

Just signed my name in blood for the event...or rather sent them the dough for both days.

37 signed up for Saturday (1 of 2 BMWs, me being the only E30)
8 signed up for Sunday. Get on it slackers!!!

Nick: your quick, sign up to be an instructor! (and save $) as it's an option this go-round.

    From the website:

There are very few requirements for cars to run in the autocross. If you are planning on driving an SUV or truck, please email us to obtain permission. The requirements are:

1)The car must be in good working order and NOT LEAKING ANY FLUIDS.

2)You must have a helmet (or rent one from us). Any Snell rated (95 or newer) helmet (M or SA) is allowed. SA95 or newer are required. If you do not have a Snell rated helmet, you can rent one from us.

3)There is no TECH FORM required for the autocross. However, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to arrive with a safe, sound vehicle.

4)Battery must be securely fastened down (they are on all cars from the factory).

    5)Tires:
Street tires must be in good condition, with at least 2/32 of tread remaining. NOTE: 2/32 is probably not enough to get you through a day at the track!
Race tires must be in good condition, with no cord showing.

6)You must have 3-point seatbelts, or better, in good condition.

7)A rollbar or roll protection is NOT required in convertibles for the autocross, though we highly recommend that you have roll protection.
Now what really makes me laugh, the day before the BMW crowd met out there, a kid with a dirty dirty red Lotus Exige with duct tape marks and little bits and bobs missing had his battery hold down break. AND HE DUCT TAPED IT BACK IN!! :scary:

Oh just for those who haven't been out here, they do allow passengers. Keep that seat in, it's invaluable getting someone to witness that spin, or that one cone you desire to murder....along with getting some valuable insight and more time having **** tons of fun out there!

I'm really excited for this. My new biggest adjustment will be my camber plates, and I'm stoked to see how much faster I am w/ them. My frontal grip has dramatically increased. Should solve my pushing problem :D
