    cylinder head work in SoCal??

hey guys, I might be getting my hands on a spare 885 head for cheap and I was looking for a good machine shop preferably in San Diego but I'll go as far as LA if I need to...
I want to make a project out of building a legit race head that will make power above 7k, so a nice port and polish would be a good start..
any M20 gurus in the area??

There is a spectacular machine shop up here that can work wonders on an m20 called top end performance. They are kind of D-bags though from what a lot of people say so trade off.

Yeah, call La Jolla Independent if you're in San Diego. Definitely not a "hookup" price, but the quality of the parts and machine shop they use can't be beat. Still, they're "fair" on price.

There is a brand new vac stage 3 head for sale. Its been up for a while. Think he's trying to get $2500 which is not bad once you add up all the new parts on top of the machine work.

I'm thinking that's right around what this is gonna end up costing me, just can't cough it up all at once... I'll definitely ask about it though, just to see what all he's done to it...

My buddy Shant does cylinder head work. Port & polishing, valve grinding, resurfacing, rebuilding, etc.

He is currently building a M20 head that will be listed for sale when complete. PM if you want more details.
