I'm halfway serious about that m106 btw (unless it's an m102).

That that 22mm bolt off. Then take off my timing chain protector cover off from the side. I wish I invested in the Bentley manual ughh..

And also look at this car my friend is thinking about selling.. He will sell it to mee for $100 flat lol

Are you trying to find a crankshaft holder tool?

get a big piece of flat stock, drill big hole and six small holes, hold it that way.

it also may be possible to break it loose using the starter and cleverness, but I don't endorse that way as safe or reasonable.

Well you see I'm bit of a noob. Trying to tackle the whole timing system by myself and my father.

I think that's the 22mm bolt that carries 244lbs of torque and need to take it off to get to the side of the timing system where the chain and sprockets are. Also replacing thermostat and water pump and alla that.

I've heard about the starter and a breaking bar but I'm not trying to do that.
With the flat stock after i bolt it on do I place it along the chasis so it can get stuck while applying the pressure to loosen the bolt?

Where are you? If that is the same as the m20 and m50 then I have a tool that holds the crankshaft... I got it and rent it out. $20. Lmk.

Also, guys has anyone here ever payed to have a smoke test done? Or is it worth the time/trouble to use a cigar? I would probably use a hookah in my case.
