225/45/17s rubbed on my car to the point that I couldn't turn the wheel by hand. This was on the front. I only mounted one tire to see if it would clear and it rubbed more or less everywhere. The biggest tire that will clear on a M3 with 17s that won't rub is a 215/40/17, but kiss your fancy wheels good buy because they won't last. I speak from experience.

People will say otherwise, but I hate hearing tire rub when I turn, and I really hate out of round wheels especially when they cost a fortune to replace when they crack.

I lowered my car about a half to an inch last night...
