I swapped the pump with one from my parts car and it seems to be fixed. But the one I swapped in either never had the little strainer/filter "sock" that goes on the bottom of the pump. And the one from the dead pump doesn't fit on the working one. Does anyone have any idea where to get one of those? How terrible will it be to drive without it until I can get one?

Anyone? I drove to school (like 4 miles) today without the strainer but ill stop driving it if I shouldn't be.

It was, and if I didn't find this one I would have chopped up the iS to fix the other one. The one I picked up was salvage title, and it's trashed. Gonna part it out cause its on its last legs and use all the new parts to fix the iS. $400

Besides it bring drivable, it's not very salvable.
Glad I found a rusted out bucket to chop up instead of chopping up a save-able e30. Crackless dash, LSD, new tires on decent Weaves, brand new cooling system with receipts from 6/2013 (Water pump, T-stat housing, radiator)

Pretty much everything I need to fix the iS and extra

Plus I get dat #hastag e30 vert experience doh

I was surprised myself. It was posted Sunday morning, and I picked it up Sunday afternoon in Sac. Glad I got something quick to drive around in. She wanted $1200, but it was just too rough of a shape to get that and it's salvage title

The strainer is just a supplement to your fuel filter. It's there so large foreign objects won't clog your fuel filter, leaving you stranded. I don't know if it's before the pump pickup but if it is, you risk clogging the pump.
