as you are aware. the M3 NEEDS new track tires.
      For track, NT01 > R888 > RS3

NT01 and R888 are in a different class than the RS3. R-comounds vs. street tire. RS3 will be cheaper, probably last longer and not heat cycle out as quickly as well. But man do those R comps grip!

here's my issue. i like running with GGC bmwcca.

i need the best tires but stay under the points. r-cops rack up the points. i need "summer tires"
as i sit im Total points: 59 - Class A. and unless i go jstock im hosed on changing anything.

Eric you can look into these:

              Falken Azenis 615k
              BFG Rival
              Hankook RS3

hmm, then id say rivals for autox and rs3 for other high speed activities.

It's going to be similar to the other tires you can use. Also keep in mind sizing age etc. the 615ks you dd on are likely worn out, small, and heat cycled to hell by now. Fresh ones in more steamroller sizing will be better.

RS3 is a good cheap bet. The top autox/track street tires right now are BFG rivals and Dunlop Z2s (bridgestone RE-11As and RT615K are in the same class but less popular). They are all similar in performance but with slightly different characteristics and all basically identical pricing. The RS3 is a bit cheaper but still a great tire.

since the m3 has no torque dont need something that holds forward and braking as much as i need a good tire to hold sliding.

Between the two top contenders, the consensus that I have heard so far is that the rivals are better for beginners and are more forgiving with a larger plateau of grip, but the z2 is the faster tire as it has a bigger "peak" of grip that you can ride if you're an experienced driver.

I've definitely noticed upon driving with the rivals that they love slip angle and to slide around.

                          so rivals over RS-3s?

                          which has the stiffest sidewall?

I haven't driven them all back to back so I couldn't tell you. But they are all pretty stiff.
