Better off buying an e46; same price and a decade newer
E36 non m vs e46 non m = e46 all day.
E36m vs e46 non m for everyday use is e46 non mOBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25
Z4 non powered steering rack fits e30
Euro e46 2005/6 320d 6mt gearbox into E30 with M20 hardy and beck 1985 327s engine

wait, you're going to weld it directly to the frame? the hangers on the stock exhaust are there for a reason- to prevent the ridiculous NVH that will result from a direct connection. i'm not sure you want to do that.past:
1989 325is (learner shitbox)
1986 325e (turbo dorito)
1991 318ic (5-lug ITB)
1985 323i baur
current:
1995 M3 (suspension, 17x9/255-40, borla)

Is this the r3vtard equilibrium equation?
------------------
~3k in the bay area can buy=
Potentially decent e30 (or pile of shite)
A e36 (falling apart inside as usual)
A e46 (not as old or as trashed as the first 2)
All will have issues, the e46 will at least be safest in a crash.
The e30 and e36 will much more likely have the Guage cluster changed so the milage will be doubled.
If you buy the e30 in the south bay the cluster will have been changed out for a pnp unit years ago; perhaps more than once.
The e46 not so likely as its a pita can bus system and people are afraid to F with it.
What's the best engine out of the bunch?
E30 = M20 poop
E36 = M50 not as poop
E46 = M54 decent poop
Newer = better.

I powder coated my strut bearings and am reusing them; also had to ask for opinions.
The powder coat acts as lubrication for the bearings and makes up voids in used bearings; 100+ r3vtards voted yes.Last edited by Wanganstyle; 02-23-2014, 06:12 AM.OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25

[quote=Wanganstyle;4037082]Extremely r3vtarded.

The powder coat acts as lubrication for the bearings and makes up voids in used bearings;
Can I use this powdercoat technique to restore the bearing in my m10 water pump?
TIA
