Do you have a stock midsection/cat? Check to see if the metal shielding lining the outside of your cat and H pipe has come loose from scraping on speed bumps. Mine did and made a terrible rattle at idle. Gotta weld it back to the exhaust.

      correct?
RTV is messy. On the thermostat housing gasket and water pump gasket I use this stuff:

Also use it on oil pan gaskets (paper).

I'm pretty sure it's stock, the p/o had to change it out at some point and its welded somewhere going to check it out right now will get back with more details soon.

Thanks for the advice hopefully i have the same issue as you.

too late, it's on. I just use a thin coat but I do recommend using gloves, as it stains fingers

Thats what's happening to mine right now lol among other things. Started the car up today and it was pretty hard to start probably due to the cold weather and sitting for a few days but it wont idle either it just starts idles for a few and sputters to death. Any ideas? vacuum leak maybe?

As I was doing my valve adjustment I noticed this.

Does anyone know what this is? I think I've been driving my car with this off. Secondly, do you think it goes to the outlet u see right behind it? Thirdly, can I use duct tape for now.

you just shove it on the fuel pressure regulator right there, it's a vacuum hose. should just stick on with friction but you can zip tie it if you need to

replace it with new vacuum hose. tap it but only for the short term. and doesnt expect to get power out of your car. Google FPR all cars have them.

it cold weather the throttle body will freeze open. that warms it so it doesnt freeze. you can delete it but dont drive in really really cold places after.

Thanks guys for the response. I just finished valve #1. Another question. When I rotate engine to get Top Dead Center, do I get the cam lob to point down for intake, adjust valve. Then crank engine to get cam lobe to point down for exhaust then adjust. (What I just did)

OR get cam lobe pointing down for intake and adjust valve on both intake n exhaust.

                            3. OR get BOTH cam loves pointing approximately down then adjust valve for intake n exhaust

Yea that seemed like it made the most sense. I had a friend crank the engine while I watched the lobes. Thanks again thizelle.
