I wanna have that, and control arms ready to go before I get my ground control put on so I only have to get an alignment once.

Crunched my facts. 1.9s came with the e36 3.2 racks.
6-cylinder Z3 racks are the ones you want (2.5, 2.8, 3.0). Part number ends in 031. Has a gold "sheathing" to it.

Got mixed up cause I had a 1.9 shifter and confused the heck out of myself when comparing other z3 parts. How? Don't ask, I don't know

        Yes

Ending sequence to the part number is the center line; it reads "1 092 031".

        Came off a 1999 Z3 2.8

Verified 2.7L/L because I can turn my wheel and count at the same time

But my experience dictates that you should not trust model/year regarding which z3 has the true-blue 2.7 L/L rack. Just go by the part number and you will be fine

Is there difference when it comes to the pedals from an early model and late model? I picked up pedals yesterday and it looks different from the ones that I have on my late model. Read somethings about it just having to swap pedals not the whole assembly. Can some one help clarify this

Airbag and non airbag are different.

If you have an airbag car just swap the actual clutch and brake pedals in.

If you have an airbag car the upper bracket is longer and incorporates rivets, not bolts. You will not be able to take it out without grinding.

Easiest way to swap an airbag car was already posted. Swap the pedals.

Late model pedal also had a plastic clutch pedal; early models had a solid metal. Not really much of a difference between the two, they function the same, just ones metal and the other is plastic

Holy fuck. I noticed that gold sheth on the rack and my dad has the same one. Check the number and confirms it's the 1.9 rack... Wow we bought it in the understanding that it was a regular e36 rack. It was $200 new old stock and you could smell the old on it :P

I thought he said 1.9 was regular e36 and 2.8 was the 2.7 turn to lock?

                      And hi Sina

                        It's a hit or miss
I've seen more 031 racks come from 6-cylinder z3s than 4 cylinders. HOWEVER, I've HAVE seen 1.9s have the rack, but no idea what determines if it has the 031 2.7 L/L rack or the 3.2 e36 rack.

You just gotta double check the part number and see if it ends in 031. That's the biggest tell-tale sign of the coveted 2.7 L/L z3 rack

So I might end up driving my car to Colorado again in May. This time I'll avoid Death Valley and hopefully it won't be hot enough to overheat my car.

I'm assuming you drilled the trunk eric? I have to install mine…I was planning on cutting off the studs and using 3M tape. People seem to have had good experiences with that for spoilers and then I won't run the risk of it leaking or have to drill my lid.

i would never do it wrong. 3M'ing it sounds stupid. it took about 1 hour to do the math, measure, drill, RTV and the bolt on.
