Potentially. Outside the hotel I was at last night a Tahoe got tboned so hard it flipped over. The three (elderly) passengers were fine. If that happened in an e30 vert there's a 99% chance I'd be dead.

And rodoni, would that be for a premade one or a custom one? I don't know of any company that produces e30 cages.

just dont. if you are too poor to spend 4 hours on a dyno you dont want a MAF. most cars with then idle like shit and really arent that much better than AFM cars.

I know a supra guy who does his own tuning. Told me he can at LEAST get me to idle well and having it reliably driving

Found a MAF that is apparently plug an play. No jumping wires to the ECU. Nothing. Verified by 2 people (and a person from r3v) over on e30tech

Only problem is that it is an extremely rare euro MAF off of a Rover of all things. (And apparently Hondas too, but all my research indicates the Hondas they are supposed to come on use MAP sensors, not MAFs)

It was weird. I didn't see it happen. From what I gather, a Subaru outback ran a red light, hit the Tahoe probably going 50+ (road was a 45), and somehow the Tahoe ended up upside down.

First off your vert (and mine BTW) have a lower center of gravity.

What allows the Tahoe to flip and tumble more easily is that its undercarriage is much higher than your undercarriage. This is not to say that if you hit a vert with enough force and low enough that it will still flip over but its a much harder feat to accomplish.

The Tahoe was obviously hit low enough that the car that hit it acted like a wedge from underneath and flipped it.
Spending money on a cage because you saw one accident where a lifted from the factory (look at the wheel gap) vehicle flipped over is kinda a "knee jerk" reaction. Safety aside - From all the cages that I have seen in a vert there are very few that can pull off the look. There are some creeping roll overs that I have seen in the 4x4 world so not all of them are BAM flipped , dead. Some are oh , oh, oh, its gonna .. Damn! Kinda like blowing a load too soon. :)

If you are serious there is a guy in Campbell that builds 4x4 cages to custom specifications. He also does race car DOM tube builds to custom specifications. He can bend up the cage however you like and then tie it into some feet that can be bolted in to the e30 vert. That way you can remove it if necessary.

Personally, I would buy a JD Squared tubing bender and a 2" die for the same money and then source some 2 " DOM Steel tube. You would need a tube notcher and MIG welder. These items (minus the MIG Welder) can be had for sub 800 dollars and would allow you to custom construct the cage however you choose and at the end of it all you still have the tubing bender and notcher. The benefit to this approach allows one to weld in fancy gussets where they choose and rings or tabs to tie things off or secure things in cab (drink holders, dog leash tie off spots, etc)

I have the welder and could trailer it down from my place in NV. It needs a 220 plug to hookup and I have 3/4 of my large bottle left.

Ive got other references for 4x4 guys who build cages all day long as well being that I am a Jeeper as well.

As an American society sure obesity is the norm , but there are lots of people that still wear standard sized clothes. Would have walked her over to management and had a talk
