Yes, the roadster is incredibly fun, but it's not forgiving. You have to be very deliberate and precise with all inputs. If you half commit, it will bite you. If you get sloppy, it will bite you. In the video I posted, I nearly lost it in either turn 6 or turn 10 when I missed my apex by inches. (I did the same thing in both corners on different stints.) With fresh tires and brakes, it will hold its own in a small bore vintage race. I think with a better driver, its got a shot at running at the very front of a big vintage race. The key at Laguna is to carry as much speed through turn 5 as possible. My gearing is a little tall for the run up the hill, and if I get bogged down out of 5, it takes the whole run to the top to get up to speed again. Getting down the hill, its very fast.
I was hoping to get my race licence renewed this year, but with having to move, there is no reason to even look into it as I know I don't have the spare $ around. That and my Alfa project is devouring $ like a kid with a sweet tooth eats candy. The rental scene is pretty brutal. I'm going to have to pick up a beater car and put the M3 in storage. I'm not about to park it on the street or in a uncovered, unlocked parking lot. I wish I could find a place with a garage here, but I flat out can't afford any of the places.

As for the roadster, yeah I've talked to a couple other guys with 1800's and they said pretty much the same thing about the driveability on the track lol
Yeah, as soon as I got the E36, my dad gave up his gated and covered parking spot for it, it's been happy ever since and thankfully because I would've been in the same position as you, not enough spare dough for a rental space. Why do we have to have the most expensive hobbies? Between cars and music, I don't know how I'm still alive.C6Z

Wish I had time to practice though, of course then I would want/need/manage to justify another horn...
I wonder what it'd be like to have cheap hobbies.
