monday was meh car stalled once.
Tuesday, shit got real. car bucked, stalled for 10min on the way to work and then cleared up and ran ok. then ran great coming back home from work.
Wednesday, shit died on the freeway - coasted off to side roads. it was throwing a 1888 code. yes 1888 is not a typo. It barely ran on surface roads to work. bumps on the right side of the car would cause it to die and comeback. got to work and pulled my badge out of the glove box and noticed that when i touched the DME is started to die. then hit it hard and the car died and would not start.
figured my chip had come loose and sure enough, it had vibrated out from our shitty sac roads. shoved it back in and ran great all the way home.

needless to say, these roads are beating up my baby and so this weekend we are gonna go test drive some new cars as a dd replacement.
this would be the first time in over 10 years i've owned+driven a non-e30.

the wife drives to palo alto once a week and we drive to sj every other weekend.

Just keep driving it. M20 motors are strong as hell. I drove for a few months with that milkshake. Just make sure the reservoir is full otherwise it will overheat and then the parties over. I even raced people when I had the milkshake bringing the boys to the yard...

That oil cap looks just like mine when I ran e85. Headgasket is still good, e85 apparently just does that.

Could be ethanol blended fuels + bad rings.

looks like you have room for a 300i vert. Add a badass M20 and call it a day

the thing's got a 4.10 torsen and it's pretty lightened... even a stock m20 would be a lot of fun.
