Register your car in a rural area. I registered mine at my house in Gureneville, you can do the same with a PO box. I never have to smog it again if I go FI. But it doesn't solve the hood popping problem.

I already pulled the mani. It took like 10 min. I got the hose out, and it's cracked, but for some fucking reason BMW thought it would be a good idea to have a hose that's fucking wider on one end than the other. Dammit. Now I have to order it from blunt.

Suck it up. The m20 isn't any different; just one of those things that come with the territory
When your e30 is the only car you have to drive and you live alone, then you can start complaining when something goes wrong an you gotta get to school and/or work in the morning
