            quick question. i picked up my e30 not to long ago, about two to three weeks. guy before me said in the year he owned it he never changed the spark plugs. its runnning very poopy and im thinking i want to change them and the fuel filter. any ideas on what SPs to run? bosch, ngk? platinum, copper?

              Stock spec Bosch WR8LC+, don't bother wasting money on the fancy +4 shit. If he never changed the spark plugs, it's a good bet he never changed any other of the ignition/typical tune up parts (fuel filter, wires, cap/rotor, etc.). You should consider doing everything, or at least inspect them.

                  ive inspected the cap rotor and wires and all of those look fresh, havent taken the spark plugs out to check those but i want to anyway and the fuel filter looks like the oem one hah

                      thats a good idea. i actually wanted to take the box out and run a cone and make a heat shield. ill do it as soon as i get a chance mate!

                        running a cone on e30's is a little complicated, you can always get a miller MAF kit but thats big $$$$
                        but if you run a cone with the stock AFM and headers, you aren't going to see any more performance than stock, maybe even less actually.
                        after market headers and cone you might see some more performance but with the factory emission system and air monitoring system you will be crippled from what your car is capable of.

                            What kind of gas do you guys run? I just filled up the E30 for the first time and it's nice not having to use 91 or else the motor poops out like on my WRX. Should I still stick with 91 in the E30 to be safe though?

                            Also, I'm going out to shoot tonight sooo I should have some pictures soon enough.

                              its a m20 idk im kinda off on what i wanna do. original plan was to leave all the engine and everything original and just fix broken parts for preventive maintenance and just bag it and nice rims.

                                ive always run 91 just because my car runs poopy and i thought it would help in combustion. maybe im doing it wrong since it takes 87? lol
