As much as you can get in with it level. Basically til it comes out of the fill hole. And I can sorta tell by looking at them but I'm not sure. If anyone can chime in with measurements it'd be helpful for sure. The first car I ever rode in was an e30

I know to fill till it starts overflowing a little.. but I read that 1.2 quarts would do it, but after pouring 1 qt looks like it needs more than .2 qt to fill up..
And after a little research, read that Med cases have the fill and drain plugs in line with each other.. but I'd like to confirm..
As long as its from an e30, it should fit other e30s right?Comment

Well sorta. If yours has a medium I'm pretty sure a small will screw things up, and vice versa. I don't believe that the drain and fill plugs are in line with each other on either of them. It seems like you have a medium. I think my dad's car has a medium and it took like 1.5 quarts and still wasn't really full, but we just left it since it was slanting forwards quite a bit and it was pretty full anyway. Post some measurements of the diff and someone else can probably help more. The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Vivek.. the fill and drain plugs are def in line with each other.. on the new one and mine..
And yeah just took a peak of my 3.73 and looks about the same size for the most part. I guess I'll have to go buy another quart of gear oil.. thought one would cut it :/Comment
