"damage" is done.
You most likely blew your HG or cracked your head. When this happened to me I replace
- Head Gasket
- Head bolts
- All timing components
- Waterpump
- Hoses
- Coolant
- Oil and filter
- Thermostat
- Valve cover gasket
I am sure there is more, but those are the main ones. In addition to that I also got my head pressure tested and resurfaced.
When replacing oil here is what I did.
1. Drain the milkshake
2. Put on new filter and in new oil
3. Start car let run to operating temp.
3. Drain oil
4. Repeat 2 and 3
5. Repeat 2 and 3 again
6. New filter and oil
This is was blunt told me to do. This process makes sure all, or most of, the "milkshake" is out of the pan. If you run with coolant in your oil there is a possibility of frying your bearings.
Goodluck.

Need a good mechanic for my E30 in Bay Area.
I just moved up here from SoCal and I need to do some stuff to my car. What are the good shops in the Bay Area for our E30s. I would also consider a privateer enthusiast who wants to make some extra money. I'm in the Outer Richmond but willing to travel a bit to find the right person. I need a NorCal Castro's!
