Real OEM can in very very handy

you went to the wrong smog guy. dude i went to didn't even blink at the dbilas setup, let alone have questions at the factory M42 headers. the guy i went to was authentic vietnamese (as in, he had a chicken coop in the back corner of the smog shop). that's how i knew i found the right place :D

only issue he said is "your gearing's too short", which was odd because i swapped out 4.27 small-case for 4.10 medium- then i remembered the guy in LA said the same thing- i think CARB has wrong data on what a 318i vert is supposed to come with.
