Best head unit options?


Looking for something nice and clean stock-ish looking doesn't have to be that close to an oem look.

But I want an auxiliary cable, and the most important part about the oem look is the ability to have amber lighting so it looks similar to the rest of the interior lighting on the dash and cluster.

not a fan. if you are on a limited budget get a 5ch. if you have money. i would never install it. i really prefer a mono to match the sub and a 4ch to match the speakers.

planet audio is liked by luke, but it didnt sound clear enough for me.

I have separate amps for sub and speaker like cab says mono sub. kicker comp stuff for sub and clarion amp and RF speakers. all my stuff is from like 2001 too and still sounds better than most peoples stuff.

I used an oscilloscope with a cd of different frequencys to tune my gains and shit. Super nerding out

There's Nothing wrong with a quality 5ch amp. The accoustics in the e30 suck anyways, I have sat in alvins m3 with full McIntosh sound system and it was just meh.
