i don't think they are, usually, but my friend has been thinking of letting this car go for about a year and i think she's in a "want it gone now" kind of place.

i would buy it myself if i were in a different situation, but i'm already paying $200/mo for private parking for the baur.

we're doing a ride somewhere next wednesday, weather permitting; i can go inspect and take closeups/video myself then if there's any interest.

if our local circle knows anyone looking for an rx-8, a friend of mine has one for sale at what i think is a pretty good price. copypasta:

    2004 Mazda RX8 stock $3500
124k miles; new tires; it's had the 120k service
It's a TON of fun to drive!

It's had a couple of minor incidents (like a cone jumping in front of it on the bay bridge), but I've got all the info/paperwork (including from the previous owners) & will share all details, if you're interested.

PM me if you or someone you know is interested and i'll put you in touch

(please save any commentary on whether the rx-8 is/is not a POS, i'm just trying to help a friend that i ride motos with)

Where are you McGyver? I have a buddy with one who would probably rent it to you.

Edit: just heard back from him- $30 to rent it.
