I'm looking at selling my E30 and want some idea of its worth. I've put it on Craigslist and have offers around $2500 but I think that's just because I put it up for $3k. Please know I'm totally taking advantage of the E30 tax. What's it worth?

$2.5K to $3K may be a good range for your car. When I was looking for a sedan recently, I followed all E30 models in SF, LA and SD for over a month. My observation is that 318i/is priced at $4.5K to $5.5K had difficult time selling even if it's in pretty good condition. You have to consider who may be the potential buyers, likely high school or college kids who don't have much money. If you are lucky, you may find someone who has more cash and just loves the E30 era cars but they may go for facelift 325i/is. Good luck.

i have seen your car fluctuate in price on CL and I'm actually in the market for an e30 right now. I probably wouldn't pay more than $2300 though.

Yeah I've been moving it around and updating things when people give me offers and ask questions or for more pictures. $2500 seems pretty reasonable because they're only going to keep going up in price. I'm not in a hurry to sell, it's a fun little car that I enjoy driving, but the extra cash right now would be really helpful. We'll see what the market will bear.
