And I may be reaching here, but it's kinda weird that you mention having to do a smog the legal way this time, implying last time you did it illegally, then saying your uncle has a smog shop, and giving the address etc. and talking trash about this other shop.

I was just curious why you call the tech an idiot because there's no evidence he was negligent. So do you think they failed you on purpose to make an extra $10? Maybe if they were very slow. I have had a shop do something like that, I was quite surprised my white M3 (stock) didn't pass and they charged $20 for a retest. They advertised one price but changed it once I got there too. I felt that maybe they were in the wrong gear ...lugging the engine trying to get it to fail the 15mph, which it did. After getting quoted $29 on the phone, I ended up paying $49 + 20 = $69!!!

It's a small world because I'm familiar with the area and half Vietnamese.

I wonder if going to a shop in the ghetto is more likely to end up like this with messed up tests, resentment, and negative reviews online.

3" catless exhaust with headers to a 4" magnaflow exhaust...OBD2 is where they get you in NY, since my car is old I do not have to hook up to machines and watch them fake failing O2 sensors. I have seen it happen before, they do anything to get a buck.

I take mine to a shop owned by friends, we just chill out and talk for 30 mins after they laugh at trying to put it up on a lift.

Am from the ghetto but live in the burbs and we have great shop in the ghetto and their are shop that try to make money off this doesnt matter how much along as they can get you COME TO THE GHETTO WHEREOUR SHOPS KEEP IT REAL
